Choose one "general auditions" time slot (you'll stay for the entire time)

Prepare a one-minute song cutting and a one-minute monologue. Both should be memorized if possible.

We will do some dancing! Our choreographer will teach you a short combination of moves and we'll practice that a few times. (We aren't necessarily looking for trained dancers--do your best and have fun!)

Not getting a callback doesn't mean you're not in the show!

If you are called back, we will send you some short song cuts from the show to prepare ahead of time. We will do some cold readings and a bit more dancing at callbacks.

ABOUT THE SHOW:
"Considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, Guys and Dolls ran for 1,200 performances when it opened on Broadway in 1950. It received nearly unanimous positive reviews from critics and won a bevy of awards, including Tony Awards, Drama Desks and Oliviers. Frequently revived, the show has been done with numerous all-star casts, including productions/concerts featuring Ewan McGregor, Jane Krakowski, Brian Stokes Mitchell and Jessica Biel.
Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy. Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend and nightclub performer, Adelaide, laments that they've been engaged for fourteen years. Nathan turns to fellow gambler, Sky Masterson, for the dough, and Sky ends up chasing the straight-laced missionary, Sarah Brown, as a result. Guys and Dolls takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong.
Frank Loesser's brassy, immortal score makes Guys and Dolls a crowd pleaser. The large cast features both a variety of ensemble and star roles. With a great collection of production resources from MTI, this highly producible show is a treat for audiences and performers of any age" (Music Theatre International).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: I want to be onstage, but I don't want to sing. Is there a place for me in this show?
A: YES!!! There are so many fun roles in this show that we can put you where you feel comfortable (but, like, what you decided to try it? We can accommodate that, too!)
Q: Dancing?! Yikes. I'm not a trained dancer, and don't know if I can dance in a musical! Is there a place for me in this show?
A: YES!! There are so many fun roles in this show that whether you're a trained dancer, someone who just likes to dance, or prefer not to dance onstage, we can accommodate you! Our choreographer is an expert at assessing dancing skills and making everyone look good! Or you can opt out of dancing entirely. Don't worry about this.
Q: I'm not sure I even want lines, but I'm ready to try being onstage. Is there a place for me in this show?
A: YES!! If you want to do as little as walk across the stage once, we can get you up there! Come out and try it!
Q: I don't want to be onstage but I want to help. Is there a place for me in this show?
A: YES!! Apply to tech crew! Mr. Reinholtz is our tech director and there are lots of opportunities to run the show, like lighting, sound, costuming, hair/makeup, changing the set during the show, designing props.... Come out and try it! (See link above)
Q: I love singing, acting, and dancing!! Is there a place for me in this show?
A: YES!! There are plenty of roles for people who want the whole shebang!
Q: I hear this is a Golden-Age musical, which generally isn't my vibe. But I'm open-minded, so tell me more!
A: Thanks for asking! You are correct; Guys and Dolls is from the 50s, but what you might not know is that it's got more energy and humor than most Golden-Ages. (Plus, fedoras were all the rage, so you might get to wear a cool, old-timey hat.) Guys and Dolls is basically a rom-com with a quirky characters, hilarious jokes, and really fun dances.
Q: Really? Because I watched the movie, and it wasn't great.
A: We totally agree! LOL. The movie with Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando isn't the same story or vibe as the stage show. Check out the link below to get a sense of the musical stage version!
